Several years ago, I was at a point in my life where so many things had been ‘cleared out’. There was loss, emptiness and living in a state of inertia. Who was I? What is my purpose? What do I do next? An awakening allowed me to see that my pain, my losses, my difficult decisions, my sadness, my humiliation and my shame from the past, all those life experiences ‘I got to do’. They didn’t happen to me. They happened for me!
From that ‘defining moment’ on, I began to make a conscious choice in each moment. Every person I meet along the way in my journey of life is an opportunity to learn, teach, love and expand my understanding of others and the world around me. This profound realization empowered me in ways that nothing else had, it became my guiding principle in life and in my work.
My personal philosophy is that ‘Life happens for us, not to us’ and this approach in life has brought about transformational changes in my life and I know it can for others too!
